Mother’s Day Tribute

Why do we celebrate Mother's Day?

I believe there are Millions of people who reflect on the things that their

Mother did for them and how it permanently affected their life in a

positive way.

Today, I will tell you a little bit about my Mom who passed away April 28,

2004 .... her nickname was Flo.

Flo was raised on a small farm, as a child she had to chop wood to stay

warm.

Flo had to work at a young age to help her Mother and family survive

during the Great Depression.

Flo grew up to become a very kind and gentle woman that taught Sunday School and put the needs of her family and friends before that of her own.

My Mother was and always will be a huge inspiration for me .... the best lesson she ever taught me was "how to fish". She literally took me fishing and said "if I teach you to fish - you will never starve".  Altho, that has a lot to do with a Bible story - that statement has much truth and meaning to me - especially in the days of this recession.

Mom, thank you for having been a woman I could model my own life

after.  Thank you for bringing me sunshine when there was only gloom

and thank you for molding me into a Mother that my children can be

proud of.
