Putting the Internet Marketing Puzzle Pieces Together

How do I get the tools I need or have to work together?

I can tell you that was the same question I had when I began working online in 1997.

Everybody said the same thing "you need to build a list". While that advice sounded very good there wasn't anyone willing to actually tell me step by step how to build a list.

I went on to read every ebook I could find, I joined forums, I wrote people of influence, and still I had not come any closer to the "mysterious list building" aspect of working online.

Then one day .... someone said .... "why don't you use an Autoresponder"? The name of the tool alone intimidated me. They sent me a link and I took a look ... way back then there were no tutorials, videos, etc. and this thing was very intimidating .... once you reach that level you pretty much throw in the towel.

A few weeks went by and I decided that I really needed to tackle this thing my way. So I started thinking about the "dreaded list" and began to advertise my website by offering a free newsletter - which is another way to build a list. We used an autoresponder with pre-written messages.

Nowadays, there are tutorials and videos to get you started with learning how to use an Autoresponder and heaven knows there are endless supplies of pre-written messages to be purchased or downloaded for free - commonly known as PLR (Private Label Rights).

I love to write, and I quickly realized that unique content was the way to go. My newsletters were written from the heart - just as this blog shall be.

Once again, if you loathe writing, pick up some PLR and insert, remove, remake parts so that it reflects your own style of writing.

I also began creating tiny ebooks and special reports and gave them away for more exposure and branding.

There are many ways to build a list. Be creative and use the resources of those around you that have already been where you are.

Use this unique rebrandable report called Twitter and SEO to build a targeted list of people who are interested in Twitter by giving it away from your own Twitter Mini Blog.

Last but not least, check out our recommended sites to see the exact list builders we use to gain signups and sales daily.

No matter how you decide to build your list ... you will need traffic .... be sure to optin to our free newsletter where we give away traffic, and offer high converting traffic tips.

Have a great day!

  1. Gina, I admire your spirit of generosity that you are so clear about here. IMHO, there is, nor ever will be, any substitute for good old-fashioned sincerity and an attitude of sharing.
Just like always (ie: before the advent of the net) what works best is simple: work hard and work honest. You will gain one fan at a time and they will spread the word to their friends.

The web just offers us ways to amplify that principle.

BTW, I am following your hubby on Twitter and he has DM-ed me with a tip to look you up.

I admit I’m a bit flummoxed by the mysteries of SEO at this moment. I’ll check the links you share here, with many thanks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! At last a dictionary of internet marketing terms. I have been asking for 4 years of my different instructors for this type of reference. It has been try and fail, “Huh? what did he say?”
It is very difficult learning unless you know the language.
I found you on Twitter through another friends tweet. I also tweeted you on my Twitter and Facebook sites so many more friends can find you.
I am just starting out on Twitter so I don’t have many friends, but I do have a couple of very influential people there. Maybe that will help.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Patricia, Thank you :)

If you encounter a term that is not in the Free Internet Marketing Dictionary – or a message sent in Twitter, etc., please let us know and we will define it here for you.

    Gina :)

  5. Thanks for advice! Bloggers need to know that they have to add an autoresponder & free newsletters or reports to build their lists.

It’s all a part of the internet marketing strategy.
