Create Your Advertising Journal

Working online doesn’t have to consume unlimited amounts of your time. You can begin to work more efficiently by creating your own advertising journal.

If you are new – this is a must. Otherwise you will never have any stability to your advertising and most likely never have any sales or signups as a result. Being organized to create efficiency is a key factor for success online.

I use the notepad on my computer – which is standard on PC’s. I also keep a paper notebook on my desk. I list advertising resources by type… for example:

blackarrowPaid To Click

blackarrowGuaranteed Visitors

blackarrowList Builders

Under each I will place the links of the places I am either testing or using on a regular basis. Yes, I used that word again – testing. Every time you place an ad – you should be using an ad tracker so you know which places are pulling sales/signups.

Please start with something that is not overwhelming – if you choose to try all resources at one time you will be overwhelmed and give up before you even get started.

Now you will set aside a period of time when you can turn off the phone, not have to answer the door, the kids are sleeping so that you are left to work uninterrupted for the amount of time you decide to delegate to these advertising tasks.

Be realistic, it’s highly unlikely that you will spend less than 1 hour a day on any one promotion if you are putting all your effort into that one promotion.

Your Ad Journal will evolve into an incredible blueprint that is all your own. Give it time – and never give up!

  1. Ashley Ladd says:

Great article. I’ll have to make an ad journal to track my promos.

  2. Guy Siverson says:

    An ad journal.

    What an excellent idea.

I also use Google calendar to create a task list of what I want to get done in a given day. It’s amazing how gratifying seeing a huge list of checked off items for the day can be.

That, and the fact that I have gotten more done than ever before will keep me use Google Task list permanetly.

  3. Great article Gina.

I use Keynote myself. It has a rich text editor that keeps your hyperlinks active so all you have to do is click them to open in your browser.

I have found that one feature to be a great time saver.
